Mrs. Roach’s Journey

Some people see Mrs. Roach as an everyday teacher but she is more than that. She is a passionate, hardworking, and loving person.  She is married for 40 years with her husband and 3 children and just became a grandmother this year with two beautiful granddaughters that she loves very much. She also loves her dogs too.

Mrs. Roach has a few hobbies that she loves to do in her free time. She loves reading, plants and flowers, decorating, and shopping. Her quote, ” I hate to spend money but the economy needs me.” The genuine, caring, loving, and knowledge is what makes her strong. Her passion for her family, learning, reading, and students is incredible. She is passionate about these things and there is a great purpose behind them. She pursues it with everything she has.

Have been teaching at Hobart High School for 23 years. Before that, she thought college and a high school in texas for a total of 15 1/2 years. She always wanted to be a teacher after high school. However, her parents didn’t want her to be a teacher. So, she did marketing and advertising for 6 years. Then at the age of 25, she had a feeling she wasn’t doing the right thing. A person that she met told her that she can go to this university at Huston and get her master’s degree. The state was desperate for teachers at the time. So, Mrs. Roach taught a classroom without having a teaching license yet and she has been a business teacher since 1983.

She loves being a teacher because of what she teaches and the students (mostly). Her favorite memory of teaching is the relationships she created and being able to be there for the kids. Her goal is to retire in 2 years.
